Telperion was the name given to the silver tree of Valinor, the original homeland of the elves in Tolkeins mythos. The silver and gold trees of Valinor bestowed the land of Arda with light. 
 
Many theologies hold the tree as a sacred symbol of the structure of the universe. It's so intriguing to me that this has become such a universal symbol for growth, fresh starts, and evolving to our highest forms.
